ANDY COROLES SONGWRITING - Create Songs...Feel free
Every song begins with an idea – sometimes fleeting, sometimes intense. But how do you turn inspiration into a real earworm?
Songwriting is all about emotion, creativity, and structure. Here, I’ll show you step by step how to write your own song:
Finding Ideas: You can find inspiration everywhere – in your personal experiences, world events, or everyday situations.
Theme and Emotion: Think about the message or feeling your song should convey. A strong emotional core makes your song unique.
Lyrics and Melody: Decide whether to start with the melody or the lyrics. Both go hand in hand and influence each other.
Structure and Arrangement: Verse, chorus, bridge – learn how to give your song a compelling structure that draws your listeners in.
Finalizing and Recording: Refine your song until it says exactly what you want it to. Then it’s time: recording, production, and release!
Today is July 1st. A day on which I’d like to share how I’m working on my next song.
Once again, I was reading news reports. A few days ago marked the anniversary of an event during World War II:
The massacre of Jews in June 1941 in Białystok.
A horrific event that challenges me to write a song about it – in Polish!
It is meant as a remembrance of what happened; thoughtful, yet with energy. With piano and powerful music.
The lyrics: historically inspired, without claiming to be complete. The song will be finished soon…
July 10: The song is now complete. I’ve made a few minor corrections. It will be released in Polish shortly.
